This section guides you through setting up, configuring, and managing the label integration in OpsRamp.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm that your environment meets the following requirements:
    • OpsRamp Classic Gateway (Linux) version 14.0.0 or later
    • OpsRamp NextGen Gateway version 14.0.0 or later
    • OpsRamp recommends using the latest Gateway version for full coverage of recent bug fixes and enhancements
    • Provide CVTL API credentials (username and password) with at least read-only privileges
    • Verify that the IP address/hostname, port, and credentials are valid and accessible
    • Test network connectivity from the gateway:
      ping <CVTL IP Address/Hostname>
    • Test port accessibility:
      telnet <CVTL IP Address/Hostname> <Port>

CVTL IP Address / HostnameEnter the IP address or hostname of the HPE Command View Tape Library (CVTL) management appliance. You must be able to connect to this node using HTTPS.String
CVTL API PortProvide the CVTL API Port. The port must be open and accessible for API communication from the gateway.
Default: 4095
String
Is SecureSelect this checkbox if you want the communication between your system and the CVTL appliance to be secured using HTTPS (HTTP over SSL/TLS). When selected, it signifies that the connection is encrypted, providing an added layer of security to the data being transmitted.Checkbox
CVTL Authentication DomainThe authentication domain used for CVTL login. Typically set to Local for local authentication. Modify only if using an external directory service (e.g., LDAP/AD) for CVTL user management.String
CVTL CredentialSelect the API credentials to authenticate with the CVTL appliance. You must have read-only API access, including permissions for library information, drives, tapes, hosts, and capacity planning data. If you want to use existing credentials, select them from the dropdown or click +ADD to create credentials. The ADD CREDENTIAL window displays the following fields:

Note: The custom attribute that you add here will be assigned to all the resources that are created by the integration. You can add a maximum of five custom attributes (key and value pair).

  1. In the RESOURCE TYPE section, select:
    • ALL: All the existing and future resources will be discovered.
    • SELECT: You can select one or multiple resources to be discovered.
